Nov. 14, 1995 The Bulls & Magic squared off in Orlando for the 1st time since the Magic eliminated the Bulls in the Playoffs after MJ’s dramatic return.
Both Teams weren’t fully assembled. The Bulls were missing Rodman & the Magic were missing Shaq.
Penny came up HUGE for the Magic, as indicated by his production that night. MJ was relatively quiet, as only he can score 23 pts & get 7 rebounds & 6 assists & it be deemed a “Quiet” night..
I uploaded this game MAINLY, to debunk the MYTH by these dummy kids that seem to populate YouTube, that claim:
A) MJ only competed against smaller guys or slow white guys..
B) Penny was overrated
C) There weren’t BIG athletic small forwards/guards during this time to compete against..which is ABSURD..
Just in this game ALONE, MJ was guarded by:
Penny Hardaway – 6’7 220 lbs. I don’t need to describe his game..U guys already know..
Nick Anderson – 6’6 210 lbs. Known for his open floor game, perimeter shooting & was a DEADLY low post threat from the 2 spot.
Donald Royal – 6’8 208 lbs. Known for his slashing style ala Gerald Wilkins.
Anthony Bowie – 6’6 205 lbs. Versatile player & great utility guy off the bench.
Brian Shaw – 6’6 205 lbs. Y’all know who he is. No introduction is needed.
Sometimes I wonder if these dumb ass kids hear how incredibly STUPID they sound when they try & make these baseless arguments to make themselves feel better about not seeing the NBA during the “Golden Era”..
