1984 NBA All Star “Slam Dunk Contest”

All-Star Saturday debuts on Jan. 28, and setting the tone for future All-Star Saturdays, it had numerous surprises, such as the Suns’ Larry Nance shocking legend and contest favorite Julius “Dr. J” Erving in the finals of the Slam Dunk competition.
